Audacious Inquiry is seeking a personable, high-energy consultant with recent healthcare industry experience to join our health information systems practice. The HITECH Act of 2009 has spurred an unprecedented period of transformation in the country’s healthcare delivery system—AI is playing a leading role on the vanguard of innovation, helping clients in the public and private sectors to implement and meaningfully use health information technology. We are recognized nationally as a thought leader in the emerging field of health information exchange, which safely and securely delivers clinically valuable information to the point of care.
The incumbent will work on a variety of consulting projects related to health information technology, supporting clients in federal and state government as well as the private sector. He or she must have good communication skills and the ability to actively support projects from vision to delivery in partnership with other stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. An ability and willingness to learn and use new technologies quickly is a must. An ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced environment is required.
General Responsibilities:
- Interface with clients and work in teams to complete key deliverables
- Coordinate with technologists and facilitate knowledge sharing among teams
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of technology issues and advances in the health information technology industry
- Develop or assist in developing work products such as project work plans, functional specification documents, technical assessments, workflow analyses, forms matrices, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 1-4 years of experience in at least two of the following is preferred: healthcare delivery, information technology, and/or consulting
- Initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Ability to learn quickly and to meet key deliverables in short time frames and under pressure
- Undergraduate degree
- Willingness to relocate to the Washington D.C./Baltimore area
- Willingness to occasionally travel to client offices and other locations across the country
